Elementary Math (K-6)
Young people can grasp advanced concepts early on. Each student is special and unique, and deserves a tailored approach. My students, including those who did not start out believing they were “good at Math,” have excelled in the following ways:
-
Finishing 7th grade Pre-Algebra as young as 8.
-
Completing Honors Precalculus as young as 11.
-
Earning A+ 100% in Geometry at Stanford’s highly rigorous Online High School.
-
Taking Calculus 5 at age 14 at junior college while concurrently enrolled in high school.
What Happy Students Have to Say
Algebra I & II
For many, Algebra I & II is where the struggles begin. But it need not be scary and difficult. Oftentimes the issue is with earlier concepts that were not mastered with confidence. I will help by explaining concepts in plain English. And I help students to learn to see concepts and problems in a way that makes sense to them.
Calculus
Everyone can learn Calculus. It's a great tool and a big confidence booster when you can master this subject. The concepts behind Calculus are actually simple and few in number. But they are often introduced in ways that seem complex and confusing. I will help explain the concepts and terms in simple English and with everyday examples.
ISEE & SSAT
I help students with strategy and skills to solve the different kinds of problems seen on the math sections of the ISEE/SSAT tests. We cover math skills, techniques for multiple choice problems, and creative ways to understand and solve word problems.

My most recent student scored in the 99th percentile (2121 out of 2130) after 8 lessons.
PSAT, ACT, SAT
I equip my students with strategy so they learn how to quickly tackle the different kinds of questions typically seen on SAT Math. I provide tools that work from techniques for multiple choice questions, to methods for translating equations to graphs and vice-versa, to creative ways to tackle word problems.
ASVAB, AFOQT, & OAR
I know the special nature of the ASVAB, what they are looking for in the quantitative sections as well as the range of the subject matter tested overall. And what I do is help students meet the goals they set for themselves. Some examples are 4 of my recent students:
-
Achieved a score of a 94 on the ASVAB.
-
Increased score by 20 points in less than 3 weeks (from a 28 to a 50).
-
Improved score by such a margin that the student was offered a Special Ops Contract.
-
Achieved a 9-8-9 on the OAR/ASTB-E and was offered the position of a Navy Pilot.
Whatever your goal, I am motivated to help you achieve it.
GRE, GMAT & Executive Assessment
I have found the best way to help students is to work with them through problems and observe how they address and solve problems. We address underlying issues -- and review, clarify, explain, refrain -- as we go. This way you are also practicing with the GRE format as we proceed.
